Give To the Max Day

GTMD cover

Goal: $7,500

This Give to the Max Day season, your donation is more than a number. It is a chance for Twin Cities students to attend an SBC field trip and discover a new passion.

“I wish this was like 100 times a year.”
“YAC opened my eyes to all of the other possible jobs where you can use English skills!”
“I loved every session because I got to try and see new things!”
“Every session was my favorite because they all had different types of activities that were equally fun and challenging!”

Since 1999, creating a scholarship fund to help more students attend our field trips has been one of our goals at SBC.

This fall, we made it happen: SBC launched its inaugural scholarship program to help schools bring students who love to write to the 2023 Young Authors Conference (YAC). Twelve schools will each receive $500 to help subsidize their YAC student registration fees. In addition, we have received funding that will allow 15 schools to receive $500 to subsidize their registration fees to attend STEMLink.

This Give to the Max Day we need your donations to help expand our 2023-2024 scholarship fund so that we can help schools send students to all of our field trip programs, including Creativity Fesitval, CreativeCon, and STEMLink, in addition to YAC.

What do our field trips represent for students?

  • Self-discovery experiences
  • A day that celebrates their curiosity
  • A day to practice creativity and problem solving
  • Learning from and with community professionals
  • Career exploration
  • Hands-on activities
  • Encouragement to plan creatively and confidently for their future
  • A day on a college campus
  • An invitation to learn about abundant avenues for further exploration

Give the gift of newfound confidence, experiential learning, and expanded field trip access for Twin Cities elementary and middle school students!
